ETS IoT Laboratory
"Reach out and Touch Everything"
The ‘Internet of Things’ (or IoT) is an exciting term to be able to sling around. t’s an imminent reality that promises to connect people to their possessions — and those possessions to one another — in ways that will save us time and effort and enable things never before possible. Despite this promise, when asked to define the IoT, many people — even experts — will do so in very different ways. This is because the IoT is still very much in a gestational phase.
What is ETS IoT Lab...?
ETS IoT Lab is a research platform exploring the potential of crowdsourcing and Internet of Things for multidisciplinary research with more end-user interactions. It consists of a very large scale infrastructure suitable for testing small wireless sensor devices and heterogeneous communicating objects. It provides full control of network nodes and direct access to the gateways to which nodes are connected, allowing researchers to monitor nodes energy consumption and network-related metrics, e.g. end-to-end delay, throughput or overhead. The facility offers quick experiments deployment, along with easy evaluation, results collection and analysis.
ETS IoT Lab is separated into multiple zones which is helpful to understand how to learn and practice IoT domain. Each zone has required Hardware, Software and documentation/Application Examples which helps user to develop and demonstrate their own IoT application prototype in a very quick and efficient way.
Below is the list of Zones
